Dear friend,
Today is primary election day! You and your neighbors can still easily vote today before the polls close at 8:00 p.m. Here's how: |
1. Vote In-Person Today
Voting centers across D.C. will be open on Election Day from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Remember, you can vote in-person at any voting center in D.C. regardless of where you live. For most residents in Ward 6, there are 11 day-of voting centers that are closest to our homes. They are: - J.O. Wilson Elementary School - 660 K St NE
- Lutheran Church of Reformation - 212 E. Capitol St.
- Stuart Hobson Middle School - 410 E Street NE
- Eastern Market - 225 7th Street SE
- Payne Elementary School - 1445 C St SE
- Watkins Elementary School - 420 12 St SE
- Jefferson Middle School - 801 7th St SW
- King-Greenleaf Recreation Center - 201 N St SW
- Sherwood Recreation Center - 640 10th St NE
- Walker Jones Recreation Center - 155 L St NW
-
Miner Elementary School - 601 15th St. NE
I also put together a map below to help you find them. They're highlighted in green. You can check the D.C Board of Elections website here for a full list of voting centers across D.C. Remember, if you need to register to vote still (or if you aren't sure about your registration status), you can do same-day voter registration at any voting center. Here are instructions if you need to register to vote on Election Day. |
2. Vote by Mail or at a Dropbox In May of this year, the D.C. Board of Elections mailed ballots to all registered voters in D.C. Voters can still return completed by ballots by mail or at a dropbox. Just remember: -
Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked Tuesday, June 21, to be counted.
- Ballots returned by dropbox must be left in the dropbox by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21.
Ballot dropboxes are conveniently distributed across six locations in Ward 6. You can find one at: -
Northeast Library - 330 7th St NE
- Southwest Library - 900 Wesley Place SW
- Eastern Market - 225 7th St SE
- The D.C. Board of Elections Headquarters - 1015 Half St SE
- Northwest One Neighborhood Library - 155 L St NW
- Payne Elementary School - 1445 C St SE
Ballots dropboxes across the Ward are highlighted in red in the map above. You can view a complete list of dropbox locations on the D.C. Board of Elections website here. |
