400 by 2020!

John -- Our hope for RG members on #GivingTuesday is that we show up powerfully in solidarity with poor and working-class, Black, Indigenous, and POC-led social justice movements -- and commit to bringing more friends and family along into our community's long-term commitment to social justice and the equitable distribution of wealth, land, and power.

Today on #GivingTuesday, as you consider asks and offers, ground in our social justice philanthropy principles and working towards alignment with RG's Giving Guidelines.

Our goal this year is to end 2019 with 400 people signed onto RG's Giving Pledge. ***376*** of you have already signed the pledge, and a lot of those who signed made multi-year fundraising goals as part of their giving plans demonstrating a long-term commitment to social change.

Help us get to 400 signatures on the Giving Pledge by signing and/or sharing with your friends and family!

#GivingTuesday is one of a few days throughout the year where there is coordinated focus engineered across movements to mobilize funding, resources, and connection.

Some RG chapters use #GivingTuesday to host end-of-year co-working sessions for following through on their members’ Giving Pledges and to stay connected. Other RG members are actively participating in grassroots groups’ #GivingTuesday peer-to-peer fundraising drives. There are a lot of options, but towards continuing to fight to win, we wanted to make sure to shine on #GivingTuesday.

Some questions to support the RG community in participating in #GivingTuesday:

RG's Giving Pledge asks people in the wealthiest 10% of the U.S. to develop plans to redistribute all or almost all inherited wealth and/or excess income to social justice movements in alignment with our social justice giving principles.

Will you join ***376*** others in signing the Giving Pledge today?

If you've already signed -- thank you! Please consider sharing this email with your friends and family and help us grow the RG community.

In community,

The RG Team
