Dear John,
On Saturday, our newest MP Sam Uffindell
won a hard-fought by-election campaign in Tauranga with 10,931 votes
or 56.3%.
Sam currently holds a margin of 6,038
votes over his nearest rival, Labour’s Jan Tinetti, who, with 4,893
votes or 25.2%, turned in the worst performance in Tauranga in some
time.*
National’s strong result in Tauranga
reflects the tremendous hard work of Sam and our Tauranga campaign
team who worked tirelessly for every single vote received by:
- attending more than 50 media interviews, public
meetings and debates
- putting up nearly 300 signs
- holding 20 sign waving sessions
- hand delivering 50,000 fliers and letters
- knocking on 5,000 doors
- phoning more than 7,000 people
- hosting 22 National MP visits
- calling on hundreds of businesses, and
- personally greeting thousands of voters.
What’s clear is that the people of
Tauranga have reflected what New Zealanders at large are feeling.
They’re fed up with a Labour Government that cannot get things
done. They’re fed up with Labour making the cost of
living crisis worse through excessive spending that is achieving
nothing. They’re fed up with exploding gang violence and with seeing
worsening results in education, health and welfare.
But what the Tauranga result also shows
is that the National Party is back in business.
We are heading into the 2023 General
Election with a professional, well organised campaign machine ready to
run a strong party vote campaign across New Zealand.
To do that though, we really need
your support.
Every dollar helps so please donate to
