Hey friend, big news:

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) recently released a draft of the state’s 2022 Draft Scoping Plan.

I could tell you all about the Scoping Plan — its significance as a climate blueprint, whether the draft will meet our ambitious goals, and what we’re advocating to change — but instead I figured I would show you instead!

Watch our video to learn everything you need to know about the Draft Scoping Plan →

The Scoping Plan is a sweeping document the state puts together every five years that lays out the best path for California to meet its greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals.

The goal of the Scoping Plan is to provide a blueprint for the state to meet its 2030 emissions target and achieve carbon neutrality no later than 2045 — which will be a boon to fighting the climate crisis — but there’s one problem:

The Draft Scoping Plan is simply not good enough to meet the urgency of the climate crisis. It fails to accelerate the targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 40% below 1990 levels by 2030 or to achieve carbon neutrality no earlier than 2045.

This is our last decade to make significant and meaningful changes in our society to prevent an irreversible climate catastrophe.

We have the solutions to solve the climate crisis, but we need our leaders to show the political courage and bold thinking in critical roadmaps like the Scoping Plan to make sure California’s 40 million residents and future generations live and thrive in a cleaner and healthier environment.

Watch our video on the Draft Scoping Plan, then submit a comment to CARB calling for stronger rules to achieve a carbon-neutral future.

Thanks for being with us.
