#GivingTuesday is a global movement celebrating the generosity of people like you. This Tuesday, join the action by supporting Consumer Action in transforming the life of someone less fortunate.
You can help us to empower individuals and families to pull themselves out of terrible debt traps, repay those seemingly insurmountable student loans, rebuild their lives after a natural disaster and more!
Your donation will help our dedicated staff give hands-on training to community-based organizations across the country on how to help the vulnerable consumers they work with overcome financial and marketplace challenges (e.g., consumers who are low-income, limited-English-speaking, survivors of domestic violence, veterans, small business owners, disabled or elderly).
Angelique Weber is one of these consumers. Angelique (pictured above) has benefited from our new financial technology (FinTech) program, learning how to use tech (like apps) to manage her money and save. Angelique says she “loves” it and “would recommend it to anyone and everyone.” (Our FinTech initiative has already helped 38 consumers and nine non-profit staffers save $22,000!)
Consumer Action also works tirelessly to pass laws and regulations to stop predatory lenders, scammers, robocallers and unethical companies from taking advantage of you and those you care about. Because of what our supporters call our “vital,” “AMAZING!!!” and “extremely valuable” work, we have been listed as one of GreatNonprofits’ “2019 Top-Rated Nonprofits.”
But we couldn’t do all this without your support. We’re asking you to donate $30 this #GivingTuesday to help us provide the resources to educate a young military veteran on how to select a legitimate job-training program; free a single mother from the shackles of high-interest payday loans; help a low-income individual to access affordable health insurance; or keep food on the table and money in the bank for a struggling immigrant family.
