John,
I was in D.C. this weekend for some midterm strategy meetings with other Democrats, and all over town, it looked like Capitol and District police were getting ready for a war.
Everywhere I looked, police were putting up steel and concrete barricades … especially around the United States Supreme Court. I take that as a bad sign.

As of right now, SCOTUS has two dates left on its calendar marked for the release of decisions before their summer recess: tomorrow and Thursday.
That means the court could overturn Roe as soon as tomorrow, and from the looks of D.C., the police are expecting exactly that.
For nearly 50 years, the right to choose has been de facto constitutionally protected in America, and it looks like that is now about to change. This is a pivotal moment in U.S. history.
President Biden is considering executive action to limit the devastating impact this decision will have on people facing unwanted pregnancies, especially in the 26 states where abortion will almost certainly be banned as soon as the ruling comes down.
But any executive actions he could take come with fraught legal and political risks that may ultimately make abortion providers and patients even more vulnerable to prosecution if Republicans ever retake the White House in the future.
The reality is that the best and most effective way to protect our right to choose is to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law at the legislative level.
To do that, three things need to happen first: 1. We need to expand our Senate majority by at least two seats in the upcoming midterms. 2. We need to get rid of the filibuster. 3. We need to increase the number of SCOTUS justices and dilute the power of its current far-right majority.
That means NOW is the time for us to put it all on the line and FIGHT! Fight for your mother, fight for your sisters, fight for your children, fight for all the people in your life this decision will put at risk.
If you’ve been sitting on the sidelines since 2020, now is the time for you to rejoin the resistance!
Dust off that clipboard and knock some doors, pick up that phone, write those postcards … whatever it is you did to help defeat Trump in 2020, America needs you to do it again NOW, and keep on doing it!
That includes pitching in to support the political organizers on the front lines of this fight, including No Dem Left Behind.

Look, we are all angry about this, and now is the time to put that rage to work.
The first step is expanding our Senate majority, and that’s why we’ve ramped up our focus on the No Dem Left Behind Senate Fund.
In the meantime, we need your help – we need to send a strong message targeting voters in middle America, especially people who can get pregnant and live in red states where the right to an abortion will be a distant memory if this decision stands.
This will be the most aggressive undertaking No Dem Left Behind has ever taken on in our young history, but our right to choose is worth it.
Last month, as soon as the draft decision was leaked, we set a goal to raise $1 million to expand our Senate majority and save Roe.
If everyone who reads this message chips in just $10, we can do it:

But this can’t be a one-time anger donation – we need you on our team for the long haul. This won’t be a single battle, it’s an ongoing war. So please consider making a monthly commitment to support No Dem Left Behind to make sure we can win on every front.

You have a choice to make. You can say, “It is what it is, it’s over, they’ve already decided” and give up … or you can join us and fight!
What are you going to do?

In solidarity,
Hassan Martini, Executive Director, and the No Dem Left Behind team
