It’s been a landmark year for proactive legislation that safeguards abortion rights and access -- with NIRH’s hands-on support and the hard work of state and local advocates, laws that protect and expand access to abortion care were enacted throughout 2019.

In Illinois, for example, lawmakers passed the Reproductive Health Act, which not only protects access to abortion care, but also recognizes each person’s fundamental right to make decisions about reproductive health care. NIRH was there, helping groups on the ground solidify their win and prepare for what comes next.

In states across the country, NIRH is at the forefront of the fight for reproductive freedom, allying with and supporting state and local advocates -- and we can’t do it without you.
