Jack,
Juneteenth celebrates resilience. The resilience of enslaved Blacks in Galveston, Texas, who after being told they were free two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, forged new lives.
It’s the same resilience we have when we dare to dream and value hope in uncertain times. In running and so far, succeeding in a campaign where no one thought we had a shot.
We must channel this resilience in fighting for our future. Many Mississippi families live in uncertainty and hardship, and systemic disparities plague the narrative .
💼 A Black MS household earns $28,285 less than a white one does.
💵 Black women in Mississippi make 56 cents on every dollar.
🎓 Black college graduates owe $25,000 more in student loan debt than their white peers.
As a result, many Black Mississippians struggle to build generational wealth. We must make sustainable investments in our communities to shift this course.
We can start changing these inequities by sending Rep. Guest home. And we can refuse to engage with Michael Cassidy’s extremist views, which would undoubtedly further hurt all people in the 3rd Congressional. Their runoff election is on June 28, and they are standing in the way of progress.
We can cultivate a culture of resilience together. Can you donate $19 to our campaign today in celebration of Juneteenth? [[link removed]]
