JOHN, EMILY’s List was one of my biggest supporters when I became the first Black woman to represent the state of Maryland in Congress in 2008. I am honored to announce that once again, I have received EMILY’s List’s endorsement! As a fierce fighter for representation in politics and a woman’s right to choose, this endorsement means the world to me. |
As the cofounder of the National Network to End Domestic Violence, I spearheaded the bipartisan effort to pass the Violence Against Women Act in 1994.
Then, as a member of Congress, I was an active member of the pro-choice caucus and Chair of the Democratic Women in the House, where I fought day in and day out to protect funding for high-quality and affordable access to healthcare. And it’s a fight I won’t give up — one of my top priorities will be to expand access to reproductive healthcare, no matter their income level or insurance coverage. Now, I look forward to working with EMILY’s List to ensure Maryland’s Fourth Congressional District has a fierce advocate for women’s rights in Washington. Can you chip in to my campaign today to make sure we win this race for women all over the Fourth District?
