Hi John,
Today is World Refugee Day. At Ipas, we’re thinking about the many challenges refugees and migrants face—including lack of access to reproductive health care.
In Bolivia, we’re seeing more and more migrants from Venezuela who are fleeing hardships and unrest at home. Like migrants everywhere, they struggle to access contraception and face a high risk of sexual violence and unintended pregnancy.
I’m proud to share that Ipas is the first organization in Bolivia working to improve migrants’ access to sexual and reproductive health care. We’re supporting health centers to offer free care, and we’re training health providers in care that’s sensitive to the needs of this population.
I invite you to learn more about our work and watch a short, inspiring video where you’ll hear directly from migrants who received health services.
In solidarity,
Malena
