Spreading Hope . . . and Determination

Last Wednesday we sent an email to our entire list of supporters (that’s you) about 350Brooklyn’s desire to support our Media Committee with a part time staff person. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated so far.

While all our work is important–-the phone calls we make, the testimony we offer, the programs we put on, the marches and rallies, and everything else–-mobilizing wider circles of people requires spreading the word. Bringing people into the climate movement builds our strength, making everything we do more effective.

And showcasing our successes allows people to hope. Working together, we at 350Brooklyn–and at the many other groups everywhere who are doing this work– are, at root, working towards healing the planet.

We know that, despite heat waves raging all over the world, despite wildfires making headlines yet again, and hurricane season upon us, fossil fuel companies, big banks, and investment firms ruthlessly pursue their familiar roads to profit. Our determination must outweigh their power. We can do it. We must do it.
