On Christmas Day alone we get through 10 million turkeys in the UK - and they're fed on forest destruction. It's important that people know about the links between meat and forest destruction and that the food we eat is responsible for 80% of tropical forest loss. [1]

This Christmas, can you help kickstart a national conversation about meat reduction and deforestation?

Much of the forest that's cut down is then used to grow animal feed. Millions of tonnes of this feed are imported to the UK every year, mostly to feed factory-farmed animals like chickens, pigs and turkeys. [2]

Companies need to cut the amount of meat they produce - especially chicken - by 70%, and we have the power to make them do it. The more people know how broken our food system is, the more public pressure will grow on supermarkets and fast food outlets to radically change the way they produce and sell us food.

To increase the pressure, we need to reach out to friends, family, even ones that might disagree to spark a desire for change.

Put simply, we need to inspire millions of people to think differently about the amount of meat we're eating, and we can't do it without you. Will you help?
