Dear John,

Will and I—and everyone here at CPC—are thankful for the important role you play in our work to bring freedom back to California.

The other day Will shared with you the story of Cara O’Callaghan, the UC Santa Barbara employee who was told that she’d have to wait nearly three years to exercise her right to opt out of her union!

Sadly, Cara’s story is not unique. Across the state, 1.5 million public union employees have been trapped by the bureaucratic machine of unaccountable government unions. In fact, just a few weeks ago, I received a letter from a former California public school teacher who supports our work freeing teachers from unions, but couldn’t sign their name due to fear of leftist retribution. I’ve included a copy of the letter below. It really broke my heart and reminded me why we are in this fight.
It’s these fear and intimidation tactics that we are up against. We all know teachers, firefighters, or other public servants who wished they could break free from their union leadership but are unsure how to do so and or are afraid of the consequences for asking.

The good news is that now they can. The bad news is that the unions are working day and night to intimidate them and keep them in the dark. In order to break the union monopoly, we need to band together to tell state workers how they can be free!

I hope you will join us today by giving $52, $75, $100, or whatever you can afford to help us spread freedom to every Californian. Just $52 helps us subtract a member from the rolls of a California government union. What you give will help us move towards a more free and prosperous state.
