Freedom Suits Memorial Unveiling

When a circuit clerk in the basement of a St. Louis office building uncovered the stories of 300 enslaved people who dared to stand up and sue for their freedom over half a century before the Civil War, the city of St. Louis decided to tribute these brave men and women with a memorial statue.
