It's a new kind of ritual. Every week, we go about our daily lives. We put in the hours at our respective workplaces—corporate skullduggery or honest labor—we give capital four days out of the week. But Friday is the people's day now.

On Friday we stand in solidarity with each other—wherever we come from, whoever we work for during the rest of the week—and fight the systems driving us toward oblivion:
 
  • If you can march to demand climate action on Friday, do it.
  • If you can walk out of work or school on Friday, do it.
  • If you can hurl a pumpkin pie in a climate criminal's face, do it.
  • If you can put your body between police batons and land defenders on Friday, do it.
  • If you can poster walls with a warning to weak-willed politicians and soulless corporations on Friday night, do it.

We're going to lose the planetary endgame unless we can learn to hold our leaders' feet to the fire. So it's time for governments and corporations to remember why they should be afraid of us, the people.
