Anyone who knows my dad, Gary, will say that he shows up for what he cares about. Whether that was staying up all night to help me write a paper, flying across the world to visit me when I lived abroad, or showing up to every single sports game – no matter how busy he was in his own life – my dad showed up for our family.
And that’s true for the community he loves as well.

He started a school to ensure kids are prepared for the careers of the future, and a program to bring Jewish and Arab teenagers together. He’s invested in developing products that will help all of us and has been a leader in San Diego and the Jewish community.
I’m so grateful to have my dad as a role model for what service and showing up means. In honor of my dad, this Father’s Day, let’s remember how important it is to show up for each other in ways big and small.
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers and father figures celebrating. I hope you all have a day full of love and celebration!
With gratitude,
Sara
