We have a choice: will we sound the alarm about President Trump’s corruption, or will we let it go on?
Join me in supporting CREW’s work to call out Trump’s corruption by making a matched contribution for Giving Tuesday!
Trump’s presidency has been a lesson in how not to be a public servant for nearly three years now. His indifference toward nearly everything besides making money at the expense of the American taxpayer and advancing his own political and personal interests has been obvious all along. But in the past few months, Trump’s corruption has reached historic proportions.
We have seen Trump get slapped with a $2 million fine for using his charity as a personal slush fund to pay for things like a legal settlement against Mar-a-Lago, a painting of himself, a signed Tim Tebow helmet, and an illegal political contribution.
After enormous public pressure and a concerted effort by CREW, we saw Trump back down from hosting the G-7 summit at his own resort, which would have been a constitutional catastrophe.
And of course, we have seen a rapidly progressing impeachment inquiry into Trump’s bribery and abuse of power to pressure a foreign power to investigate his opponents.
Holding Trump accountable does not happen when we sit back and watch him do as he pleases with our government—it happens as the direct result of advocacy from groups like CREW, and people like you.
Will you join me in supporting CREW’s work for Giving Tuesday? Your contribution will be matched by a generous donor for today only, making your gift go even further to help CREW sound the alarm about corruption in the new year.
I am proud to serve on CREW’s board, because I know that without the relentless research and nearly 600 legal actions that CREW has taken in the past 3 years, our democracy would be a darker place. We have seen time and time again that Trump’s instinct is to cash in and pursue personal gain at all costs—and he succeeds unless we call him out and hold him accountable.
Today we face a choice: will we fight for a more ethical country in 2020, or will we just quietly hope for the best? If you’re in to fight to save our democracy, make a matched contribution now to support CREW’s essential work.
Thank you for joining us in sounding the alarm,
Zephyr Teachout
