John, even with the public hearings just getting started, the January 6 committee has already dealt crushing blows to Trump and his extremist allies.

In her opening statement, ​​January 6 committee Vice Chair, Liz Cheney, stated that Trump oversaw a “​​sophisticated seven-part plan” to overturn the 2020 election results, despite understanding that he had legitimately lost. Cheney also said that Trump “summoned the mob” at the Capitol on January 6th after spreading misinformation about the election results.
