With the attack on our democracy commanding the nation’s attention, Elizabeth Warren just endorsed a civil rights activist running for Congress who is so committed to democracy, he was arrested last year protesting FOR voting rights. Maxwell Alejandro Frost is running in Florida’s open 10th District.
Warren: "We need more community organizers in Congress. That’s one reason I’m glad to endorse @MaxwellFrostFL in #FL10. He’s a proven champion for voting rights, he’s dedicated to preventing gun violence, and he’ll fight tooth and nail for working people."
The PCCC endorsed Maxwell earlier this year and thousands of PCCC members have already chipped in to get him to Congress.
Maxwell was 15 when Sandy Hook happened, and that’s when he became an activist. Three years later he became a gun-violence survivor himself.
As an organizer, Maxwell led an ambitious voter turnout program that helped drive record numbers of young people to the polls, helping to hold the House, and win a Democratic Senate and the Presidency.
In endorsing Maxwell, Elizabeth Warren said in a statement: "We need more community organizers in Congress, and he will fight tooth and nail for working people -- to fix our rigged economic system, raise wages to keep up with rising costs, and get our nation’s housing crisis under control."
Maxwell has seen firsthand how working people and people of color have been left behind by our society, and is committed to fighting back. He also understands who has not been left behind. As Maxwell says, "We can’t let Big Oil, big business, and the 1% decide our fates for us."
