John,

Today marks the 157th anniversary of Juneteenth when Black enslaved persons officially gained freedom in Galveston, Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. And though this marks a moment of appreciation for progress, it’s also a stark reminder of the work that’s left to be done.

The sheer number of present inequities across the United States reminds us that we cannot stop fighting for change and justice. To this day, Black men are five times more likely to be stopped without just cause than a white person, Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes, and Black applicants receive an 80% higher mortgage denial rate than white applicants. The list goes on and on.

We cannot tolerate a nation of such disparity. Donate today to the NAACP, and help fight racial inequality in all forms for a fairer tomorrow. ([link removed])
