Patriot,

Because there’s a big election coming up, the Biden regime as well as state governments have been laying off their “emergency” orders.

Don’t think this has anything to do with Covid subsiding. Remember, New Zealand locked down its entire country over just *one* Covid death.

It’s entirely political, and our leaders want you to forget all of the devastation they wreaked upon America in the past two years.

After the election, expect another round of government-sponsored hysteria, not just from Covid, but from other national emergencies created by the Biden administrations own blunders, like the mounting energy crisis.

We need to demand Congress act quickly to repeal the executive branch’s emergency authority, the sooner the better, and send a message in November that this is a mandate.

If you haven’t already done so, check out Ron Paul’s most recent call to action, and then, take just a moment to demand Congress repeal all executive branch “emergency powers” laws.

And then, if you can, please support Campaign for Liberty with a contribution to defend and restore our constitutional rights as Americans.

For Liberty,

John McCardell
Executive Director
Campaign for Liberty

“No more drilling on federal lands.”

“No more drilling, including offshore.”

“No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill. Period. Ends.”

—Joe Biden

Patriot,

That statement from Joe Biden wasn’t leaked from a secret meeting with radical green-leftists.

It was an open declaration, made on national television in a May 2020 presidential debate.

Inflation. Shortages. Violent crime. Open border. Rolling blackouts. Worst consumer confidence in history. Falling marriage rates and life expectancy.

We are drowning in chaos … but chaos wasn’t the cause.

It was the plans and policies, all along, that brought us to where we are today.

For decades, I’ve warned the Federal Reserve is the cause of monetary inflation.

Compound that with rapidly rising prices bolstered by the Biden regime’s hostility toward affordable energy (oil, coal, and nuclear). Add pointless sanctions on Russian energy, that are nothing more than political theatrics that simply force us to pay other countries to act as middlemen. To that, pile on the devastation of a shutdown created by Covid hysteria.

And here we are: Once the proudest nation in the world, now rightly fearful of a collapse.

But if the American people learned only one lesson from the breakout of Covid-19, it is this: Our leaders absolutely cannot be trusted with emergency powers.

Our constitutional system of governance was brilliantly designed to hold politicians accountable to voters.

Critically, lawmaking power was given to the legislative branch, not the executive.

In the craze that swept the country when Covid-19 broke out – a virus that almost everyone who got it would recover from – we saw governors across America seize emergency powers, based on laws written when the country feared nuclear annihilation, and proceed to trample the constitutional rights of citizens by shutting down businesses, schools, and churches.

Healthy Americans were ordered to quarantine. In many states, like New York and Michigan, those with the virus were sent into nursing homes. The results were disastrous.

The devastation – economic, social, and cultural – was incalculable. And yet, countries like Sweden that never locked down had about the same outcome as everyone else.

So much devastation, and it was all for nothing.

Would any state legislature have voted for such total destruction of our constitutional right to freedom of assembly?

None did.

And yet, states today are just starting to repeal their emergency powers laws. And Congress hasn’t done anything to prevent Joe Biden, or a future president, from abusing them.

Imagine what could happen in the event of an economic “emergency.”

We’re already seeing the first signs. Last week, Biden ordered “emergency measures” to prop up the solar energy industry, declaring a two-year tariff exemption on solar panels from Southeast Asia as he attempted to jump-start progress toward his “Green New Deal” goals.

(I can’t help but think of Barrack Obama’s disastrous bailout of Solyndra over a dozen years ago, which goes down one of the worst cases of crony capitalism at it’s worst!)

Biden’s Energy Secretary, Jennifer Granholm, is a green energy fanatic whose policies drove Michigan’s economy to ruin in her eight years as governor. Green energy subsidies were the centerpiece of her term.

Last year, Granholm appeared in a music video calling for a ban on gasoline and gas-powered vehicles. Because, after all, climate change is a “global emergency.”

DEMAND CONGRESS REPEAL ALL PRESIDENTIAL “EMERGENCY POWERS” LAWS!

Yesterday, Biden threatened to invoke emergency powers against oil companies unless they produce more oil . . . even though he shut down pipelines and drilling on federal lands on day one of his presidency.

And we’re also hearing rumors the administration is planning to impose “price controls” on gasoline.

Price controls ALWAYS lead to shortages.

Think about it: Gas stations barely make money on gasoline now. They make their money as convenience stores. The gasoline market is that competitive.

If the Biden regime decrees “Thou shalt not sell gas for $7 or more per gallon,” and that’s what gas, minus their expenses, costs them, then they can’t sell gas at all – because they can’t even cover the cost of doing business.

And the same is true at all levels of the industry.

This is madness in the making.

DEMAND CONGRESS REPEAL ALL PRESIDENTIAL “EMERGENCY POWERS” LAWS!

Nothing in the Constitution, says that the system could be suspended based on a government-declared emergency.

The Framers of the Constitution certainly knew there could be real emergencies, but never did they envision the Constitution itself should be suspended because of a government-declared emergency.

We are seeing states begin to rise up.

For example, this week, the Michigan House of Representatives is considering over 30 bills to rein in the governor’s emergency powers.

Congress needs to do the same.

For far too long, Congress has relinquished its duties and let the White House rule unilaterally.

Please take just a moment to tell your representatives in Congress to repeal “emergency powers” laws, which, after all, would restore their own authority as legislators.

U.S. Representatives and U.S. Senators are elected to represent each and every one of their constituents in Washington, D.C. yet they are quick to surrender their responsibilities. Both Republicans and Democrats haven’t hesitated to let the executive branch do what they want carte blanche.

It’s time to make them earn their generous pay and do what they are supposed to do.

Sign your REPEAL “EMERGENCY POWERS” LAWS petition now.

And after signing, please make a generous contribution to Campaign for Liberty so we can continue our efforts to defend and restore Liberty in America.

For years, it was a slow creep of taking away our God-given and constitutional rights. Now, it’s all out barrage on all fronts.

Your Campaign for Liberty will not stop fighting. But we can’t do it without your help. Can you send a gift of $100, $250, $500, or even $1,000 today? If that isn’t in your budget right now, can you send $50 or $25?

Patriot, I’m grateful for all you do, and I hope you’ll take action today by signing your petition and then making a generous donation.

Sincerely,

Ron Paul
Chairman
Campaign for Liberty
