Friends,
On Juneteenth, we remember emancipation and the end of slavery. When we celebrate Juneteenth, we remember how far we’ve come while recognizing that we still have a lot of work to do on our journey towards racial equality and healing.
Now, in 2022, we are still fighting against a coordinated attempt to suppress voting rights often on the basis of race. We must remember how much has been sacrificed for freedom and remain vigilant in our responsibility to protect the progress that has been made.
Have a wonderful day celebrating with those closest to you, and remember that there is still tremendous work to be done.
Gratefully,
Jena Griswold
