John,
Today, we’re celebrating Father's Day, but also Juneteenth – the end of slavery in the United States.
While we’ve come a long way in the fight for equality, we still have work to do.
Today, we should take the time to connect with our neighbors of all backgrounds, to celebrate the communities we've built together, and to find joy.
Let us also mark this day as a time to recommit to ensuring that we create a better Kansas for everyone to call home.
Thanks to all of you for making this state such a special place. And thank you to all the fathers and father figures who work each day to build a brighter future for our children, grandchildren, and generations to come.
Laura
