Happy Father’s Day! Today, we get to celebrate all the incredible fathers and paternal role models who have shaped our lives and the lives of those around us.

I also want to wish a special Happy Father’s Day to my dad, Martin — who I know reads these emails. He fled Cuba at the age of seven and worked tirelessly throughout his life to create a better future for his family. I am proud to be my father’s daughter and I admire him tremendously.

When I was diagnosed with stage four cancer, my dad was always by my side, and continues to do that today – in the workplace and throughout this campaign.

Growing up, he instilled the values of hard work, compassion, and integrity in me — values I hold myself to every day.

Today, I hope we can all take the time to appreciate the fathers and paternal role models in our lives that have worked tirelessly to make sure their children can thrive.

Happy Father’s Day, again.
