John,

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth.

Juneteenth is a recognition of the abolition of slavery throughout the former Confederacy more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is not only a time to celebrate the end of a horrific time in our nation's history, but more importantly a time to reinvigorate our efforts to address racial injustice and continue our nation's long march towards equality.

Here in the Free State, we hold these values dear, and will continue our work as the Kansas Democratic Party to fight for a more equitable and equal Kansas.

Onward,
KDP Team
