To be effective in combating antisemitism, one of the world’s oldest forms of hatred, it must first be clearly identified.

John Horgan, Premier of British Columbia, has publicly issued a letter in which he pledges full provincial support of the federal government’s adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Association’s (IHRA) definition of antisemitism. He also reaffirms his commitment to use the IHRA definition as a non-legally binding educational tool to identify all forms of antisemitism in BC.

Join us in thanking Premier Horgan and the BC Government for fighting anti-Jewish racism.

At the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) presented its Commission of Inquiry (COI) report that investigated “all alleged violations and abuses of international human rights law” by Israel in its territories during the May 2021 conflict. Read the report, which condemns Israel while exonerating Hamas of any and all accountability, here <[link removed]>.

Canada is among a group of more than 20 countries that issued a joint statement <[link removed]> expressing deep concern about the dangers posed by the misleading and unreliable report and about the open-ended COI, which which reflects the UNHRC’s long-standing history of giving Israel disproportionate attention.

Many global leaders, including Arab-Israeli Yoseph Haddad <[link removed]>, retired British Army Officer Col. Richard Kemp <[link removed]>, NGO Monitor’s Anne Herzberg <[link removed]>, South African CEO of DEISI International Olga Meshoe <[link removed]>, Former Israeli Member of Knesset & author Dr. Einat Wilf <[link removed]>, Professor of Law and retired Lt. Col Geoffrey S. Corn <[link removed]>, shared their viewpoints at a session held by UN Watch on the dangers this biased and skewed report poses to all global citizens.

Becca Wertman-Traub <[link removed]>, CIJA’s Director of Research, was on the ground in Geneva to attend the event and provide first-hand reporting. Hear what she has to say about why all Canadians should be concerned.

By referencing the common Abrahamic heritage of Muslims and Jews in the foundational document of the Abraham Accords and featuring “Hatikvah” at official events, Arab countries are implicitly acknowledging that Jews are a Biblical people indigenous to the Land of Israel. This is a joyous revolution that overturns generations of Arab and Islamic ideological delegitimization of Israel.

CIJA President & CEO Shimon Koffler Fogel explores the resounding positive effects that the Abraham Accords have had on trade and diplomatic relations across the region.
