BIG Immigration News the Media Doesn’t Want You to Know

 

If you get your news from places like CNN and MSNBC, you could be forgiven for believing that those fighting against a border wall and other immigration controls are winning. It’s pointless to resist, they tell us, because judges, politicians and a majority of Americans support amnesty for all, and you are in the minority when it comes to immigration.

 

Here’s some good news the media doesn’t want you to know: WE are winning, not them! You want proof? My organization, the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI), racked up numerous victories this year that serve you, your family, and our country in the fight for America’s future, including:

• The U.S. Supreme Court halted a district court’s injunction of the Trump administration’s Transit Rule, which makes non-Mexican aliens claiming asylum at the U.S.-Mexico border ineligible for asylum unless they first applied for protection under Mexican refugee law.
• The U.S. Supreme Court halted a district court’s injunction against the transfer of funds to build a border wall, allowing the administration to continue building the wall.
• The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that aliens set free by sanctuary jurisdictions are not entitled to bond hearings because federal immigration officers did not apprehend them immediately.
• The Ninth Circuit halted a lower court injunction against the Trump administration’s rule requiring asylum claimants who enter the United States from Mexico to wait in Mexico for their asylum hearings, thus ending catch-and-release into to the U.S.
• The Seventh Circuit struck down a collusive legal agreement between an illegal alien and an Indiana county stipulating that his detention by the county on behalf of federal immigration officers violated the Fourth Amendment.
• The Eleventh Circuit ruled that DACA recipients are illegal aliens, and therefore the DACA program did not preempt Georgia’s categorization of them as “unlawfully present” and thus ineligible to attend selective state universities.
• The D.C. Circuit reversed a lower court decision that IRLI’s American tech worker clients did not have standing to bring a lawsuit challenging President Obama’s unlawful H-4 visa rule, which steals American jobs by allowing spouses of H-1B guestworkers to work.
• The D.C. Circuit reversed a lower court decision that IRLI’s American tech worker clients could not challenge the Optional Practical Training program, which allows aliens to live and work in the U.S. on student visas even though they are no longer students, thus competing with Americans for jobs.
• A Tennessee federal district court ruled that cooperative detention of aliens by localities at the request of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) does not violate the Fourth Amendment.
• An Alabama federal district court denied a motion to dismiss Alabama and Congressman Mo Brooks’s challenge to the inclusion of illegal aliens in the U.S. census for purposes of apportioning congressional seats and electoral votes. The case in now proceeding to the merits stage.

These are just some of the victories in which IRLI was involved. They are IRLI victories, but they are also your victories. Politicians from the Washington “swamp” like Nancy Pelosi and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez say that alien detention centers are “concentration camps,” while advocating for the abolishment of ICE which would result in utter lawlessness.

 

Lavishly-funded, radical left-wing groups like the ACLU and the Southern Poverty Law Center fight against the rule of law on immigration and seek to destroy any organization—including IRLI—that represents your interests on the immigration issue.
