Dear John xxxxxx,
I'm pleased to share with you my weekly video update. This week, I discuss the hearing I chaired in my Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee on the American Data Privacy and Protection Act. In addition, I provide an update on bipartisan gun safety negotiations in the Senate. I also reflect on the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and I commemorate Juneteenth.
As always, my office is available to help with any matters involving federal agencies, and beyond. And please continue to be vigilant in the fight against COVID-19.
To all the fathers in Illinois' 9th Congressional District, I hope you have a wonderful Father's Day. Thank you for all you do!
Sincerely,
COVID-19 Vaccine Update
On Friday, the US Food and Drug Administration gave emergency use authorization for both the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines for young children. Today, the director of the US Centers for Disease Control signed off on the plan. Vaccinations for babies and other kids as young as 6 months can begin as early as this week.
