Hi John, I wanted to wish you and yours a Happy Father’s Day weekend!

My father served his country as a field FBI agent and described himself as an Eisenhower Republican. We had some political differences, but I was forever inspired by his dedication to our country. His patriotic service was one of the examples that inspired me to serve my community in the state legislature and then eastern Connecticut as a member of Congress.

Now I am a father myself. Being Robert and Elizabeth’s dad is the best job I could ever have. My love for my children is what inspires me to fight every day for a better country for future generations.

To the fathers and father figures, I hope you have a wonderful day with your family.
