Meeting With Louisiana Coastal Restoration Advocates in Washington
Last week, I joined Louisiana state and local officials at the U.S. Capitol to discuss the importance of coastal restoration. Through the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA), our state receives critical revenue sharing dollars generated from offshore energy exploration and production to fund coastal restoration and hurricane protection projects in South Louisiana.
I'll continue fighting to ensure our state receives its fair share of revenues so that we can restore our coast, which is the first line of defense for Louisiana communities against powerful Gulf storms.
Skyrocketing Gas Prices Are Direct Result of Biden's War on American Energy

I joined my Republican colleagues at this week's leadership press conference to discuss how millions of families across the country are struggling to buy food at the grocery store and fill their cars at the pump. The average price for a gallon of gas is $4.53 in Louisiana — a jarring increase considering the $2.72 average we had just one year ago.
Just last week, the House Natural Resources Committee, which has jurisdiction over energy policy, held a hearing about big cats instead of on how to lower gas prices. That just shows how out of touch Speaker Pelosi and Washington Democrats are with the American people.
The reality is that America can meet the world’s energy needs while keeping domestic prices low. Republicans have solutions to address the worst energy crisis our country has ever experienced, yet President Biden and Speaker Pelosi refuse to bring up our proposals as prices keep soaring. It’s past time for the Biden Administration to open up American energy production and help ease the pain families across America are feeling at the pump.
Visiting With Northshore Elected Officials and Community Leaders
I enjoyed meeting with local elected officials and community leaders in Mandeville yesterday. We talked about solutions to help families, workers and small businesses who are struggling to cope with soaring inflation, which has reached its highest level in over 40 years.
Unfortunately, the Biden Administration’s spending problems have fueled inflation. Washington Democrats shamelessly used the pandemic to pursue their socialist dreams of government dependency. They paid people not to work, handed out big stimulus checks as the economy was already recovering, and expanded government health care programs — ignoring all the warnings about the inflation it would cause.
Instead of dumping cash into the already recovering economy, we should have focused on reopening schools and businesses and helping workers get back to their jobs.
It is an honor to represent you in Congress. For more information, please visit my website, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
