Dear People For supporter,
Among the other shocking revelations from Thursday’s Select Committee
hearings was the news that the January 6 insurrectionists – with murderous
intent, egged on by Donald Trump – came within 40 feet of capturing Vice
President Pence.
Had they succeeded, the events of that day would have turned out very
differently – showing just how fragile a thread our precious and
exceptional democracy hangs by, and just how serious is the threat the Far
Right poses to that democracy if they’re able to seize power in November’s
elections.
So right now, we’re working hard to mobilize and engage as many Americans
as possible around these hearings in order to overcome the Far Right’s
“Big Lie” – with activist toolkits, member briefings, videos explaining
the roles that various extremists played in the attempted coup, and more.
And in the coming months, we’ll be going all-out to mobilize every single
pro-democracy voter in key states between now and November – on the
ground, online, on the phones, over the air, and even by handwritten note.
