Hi John,
For the first time ever, Wisconsin will have PFAS water standards. The state’s adoption of PFAS administrative rules will protect the health of all Wisconsinites.
Your hard work advocating for these PFAS rules made this clean water victory possible. When you signed petitions, showed support at events, and testified at hearings, decision makers were listening. These PFAS standards would not have passed without you.
This also wouldn't have happened without the leadership of Gov. Tony Evers. Since taking office, Gov. Evers has been a leader on clean water issues – particularly PFAS. His work to secure these rules will have a lasting positive impact on the health of people in the state.
This is a day to celebrate. Tomorrow, the work continues.
Pres. Joe Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure bill is the largest investment in water infrastructure in generations. It includes $12.8 million a year for the next five years to remove the threats of these emerging contaminants from our drinking water.
This historic level of funding will enable Wisconsin to tackle water issues across the state. We will work with local elected officials around our state to use the coming opportunities to protect our health and deliver on clean water solutions.
All of us deserve access to clean drinking water. Today’s historic step towards creating PFAS water standards brings us closer to achieving that.
