John,

Have you heard about PFAS? Also called per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, PFAS chemicals are in everything from food to fabrics. And they never break down or go away — they’re called “forever chemicals” for a reason.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has failed to set any legal limit for PFAS in drinking water. Instead, it has published unenforceable health advisories on just four major PFAS chemicals. These advisories warn that PFAS is unsafe even at near-zero levels.

But communities across the country want real action on toxic PFAS chemicals, not inadequate advisories. Congress can act now to deliver enforceable limits on PFAS to get these toxic chemicals out of our water!

Urge your senators to address the public health threat of PFAS contamination by supporting the PFAS Action Act.

The PFAS Action Act would force the EPA to set enforceable limits on PFAS in drinking water and designate them as hazardous substances. It would also:

Require the EPA to limit the industrial discharge of PFAS
Provide $200 million annually for wastewater treatment
Require PFAS health testing
List PFAS as hazardous air pollutantsThe PFAS Action Act has already passed the House! Now it’s time for our senators to pass the PFAS Action Act.

Take Action

PFAS chemicals don’t break down naturally and they leach into our food and water. These forever chemicals contaminate drinking water across the country. More than 200 million people in the U.S. could be drinking PFAS-contaminated water right now. These toxic chemicals are a serious human health risk.

The corporations that make PFAS have known about these dangers for decades; they try to hide the science about the risks to our health.

But the science is clear: We need to remove these chemicals from our drinking water now. We need enforceable regulations to force PFAS polluters to clean up their toxic mess. It’s time for the Senate to act.

Send a message now: Urge your senators to support the PFAS Action Act.
