The invisible footsteps of children on the move cover our planet. The paths they’ve taken, their struggles and the uncertain futures they face are all a part of their journey.
But discrimination, xenophobia and stigmatization shouldn’t be a part of any child’s journey. Once they find a place to rest, whether for a minute or for a lifetime, children on the move should feel welcomed by their host country, celebrated for their bravery and resilience.
Monday is World Refugee Day. Join us in pledging to welcome refugee children and their families with open arms and open minds >>
Refugee children strengthen communities. When given a chance to be their bright, warm, social selves, children on the move can help bridge differences and create social bonds that cross nationalities, religions and socio-economic statuses.
We all share a responsibility to welcome those who seek refuge here. By signing this pledge, you agree to: |
-
Combat harmful stereotypes
-
Extend a friendly invitation to those seeking refuge in this country
-
Listen to the wisdom of young refugees and amplify their ideas
-
Speak out on behalf of refugee children and families

Migration is inevitable, but the dangerous discrimination experienced by refugee children doesn’t have to be. Together we can champion the rights of children, fight for their futures and ensure that every child, regardless of their immigration status, has the chance to survive and thrive. |
