Watching the stream of news about the January 6th Commission Hearings, one thing has become crystal clear: the violence of that day might be over, but the attack on our democracy is still happening.

In 2020, Donald Trump and Michigan Republicans tried to deny Joe Biden’s victory in the state and send a false slate of electors.

Since then, Republican state officials have been plotting a way to undermine the will of voters. Their latest ploy is to use a little-known process in the state constitution to bypass the governor’s veto authority and pass legislation to keep people from voting, while also making it easier to overturn future election results.
