Earlier this month, a federal court ordered a new congressional map for Louisiana after finding the legislature’s approved map suppressed Black voters and violated Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. But the fight continues both in court and in the state legislature as the special session continues.
Our affiliate, the National Redistricting Foundation, supported plaintiffs fighting on the behalf of impacted Louisianans to ensure that their voices would be heard and respected by a fair map. This is an incredible victory for Louisiana and the movement for fair maps.
