The heavy rain and floods in Yellowstone National Park have resulted in
historic damage and devastation to the surrounding areas. Homes are being swept
away, residents and tourists have needed rescue evacuation, and the surrounding
roads are buckling under the conditions. The Northern Entrance to the National
Park may be closed for the rest of the year, with potentially devastating
effects on the local economies of our gateway communities.
FEMA and the Montana National Guard are rescuing people and surveying the
damage, but our Governor was nowhere to be found. It turns out, he was on
vacation in Italy, and instead of rushing home to help lead his state through
an unprecedented crisis, he stayed abroad, purposefully keeping Montanans in
the dark about where he was and who was actually in charge.

In times of crisis and devastation, we need to be certain that our leaders
will be on the ground and making decisions to keep those they represent safe
from further harm. Instead, we seem to have a pattern here where those that
‘lead’ us are often nowhere to be found when disaster strikes.
We must hold our governor accountable and elect representatives that will show
up for Montanans.
Thanks,

cause Montanans of every color, creed, and condition. Our history as a party
teaches us that by working together and speaking as one, we can move society
forward, especially when we raise our voices for those among us with little
money, influence, or acceptance.
