John,
It's not uncommon to hear Michelle Steel referred to as “Orange County’s most corrupt politician.” After this bombshell report, she's still living up to that nickname.
The Orange County Grand Jury just released a report exposing a likely pay-for-play scheme executed by Michelle Steel herself. While on the County Board of Supervisors, Steel pushed through the sale of protected park land in Newport Beach’s Back Bay Reserve.
But here's where things get sketchy: The buyer was one of Steel's campaign donors. This donor has given Steel thousands of dollars. Apparently in return, Steel tried to sell that donor public land near their home for pennies on the dollar.
This is just one example of Michelle Steel’s long, shady history of greenlighting sweetheart deals to her wealthy campaign donors.
Far-right, culture war antics. A complete disregard for public lands. Pay-for-play corruption. It's clear Orange County deserves better than Steel. That's why we’re working hard to spread the word about Jay Chen and his vision for our community.
This month marks our first public fundraising deadline of the General Election and we want to make a strong statement that we are ready to oust Steel. If you believe in transparency and accountability in government, chip in $3 today.
