Pennsylvania’s minimum wage is below the federal poverty line — and it hasn’t been changed for 12 years.
John, we’ve got to talk about the serious harm that our low minimum wage is doing to workers here in Pennsylvania.
Currently, Pennsylvania’s minimum wage still sits at $7.25/hour — but that certainly isn’t a living wage anymore. It’s so low because Republicans in the Legislature haven’t raised it since they gained the majority back in 2010.
The fact that Pennsylvania’s minimum wage is $7.25/hour is appalling. I want to make sure that our economy values our workers and helps all of our families get ahead. That starts by raising the minimum wage to $15/hour.
