John,
In case you missed it, The Iowa Supreme Court ruled today in Planned Parenthood of the Heartland v. Kim Reynolds, finding no right to abortion in the Iowa Constitution.
Independent of the U.S. Supreme Court's upcoming decision regarding Roe v. Wade, this shocking reversal of long-standing precedent will open the floodgates for anti-choice legislation in the state of Iowa.
I'm going to the Iowa State Senate to fight for our rights and I need your help.
Make no mistake: The fundamental right to bodily autonomy is no "single issue." This will impact the social, economic, physical and familial health of every woman and person who can become pregnant, as well as controlling education and financial outcomes for Iowa's families.
I'm up against an opponent in November who is explicitly anti-choice and he already has signs up all over the district. I've been telling reproductive health stories in the House for 8 years and I'm going to do that loud and proud in the Senate.
Please help me get there today with a contribution to my campaign.
Thank you for your support throughout this hard-fought campaign,
Liz Bennett
