Hi John,

How does it feel knowing you’ve helped bring 7,6 million people on the
streets for climate justice this year? I’ll let you in on a secret – the
world’s biggest climate strikes couldn’t have happened without you.

Because global movements and mass mobilisations don’t just happen: they
take committed people, massive infrastructure, and months of strategy and
planning. So when youth strikers around the world came up with a bold call
for a global strike, 350 helped build the logistical backbone to make it
explode worldwide.

We couldn’t have done it without the support, commitment and actions of
each and every one of us in the global 350 community.

2019 was a huge year for climate action, and the climate strikes captured
the world’s attention, but there’s still so much more to do. Will you help
strengthen this worldwide movement today, so we can be ready for bold
action next year?

John, can you chip in now to support the organizers, tech and
training to power our global movement? Every donation made today will be
matched - doubled! - by a generous donor, so your contribution can go
twice as far!

Last spring, inspired by the bold leadership of the youth strikers, we
decided to throw everything we had into helping make the Global Climate
Strike the huge success it turned out to be.

It’s hard to describe an action of this scale in just a few words, but I
want to try and give you a sense of what was going on behind the scenes.
Here’s just a glimpse:

* We used our vast network to connect strikers with a global coalition
of 820 NGOs,
* We built a mobile-optimized, interactive map to allow anyone to find
or host a local strike, or join one nearest to their home,
* We collaborated with artists around the world to produce open source
designs, used by thousands of strikers,
* We put in place tech infrastructure, and produced thousands of bits of
content, to mobilise and inspire people everywhere in the world to
take part in the strikes,
* Our global team of 200 organizers worked solidly for 6 months to make
it all happen.

For me, the most inspiring thing about the strikes was seeing a new
generation of activists take the lead - especially the powerful young
women and indigenous youth leaders standing up against systemic injustices
and oppressions, and reclaiming their voice. They are the power of the
movement, so we helped amplify in any way we could – boosting their
platform in the media, connecting youth strikers across the world,
offering trainings and workshops, coordinating their meetings, supporting
them in caring for their wellbeing in the midst of frantic organising.

John, we don’t talk about the support infrastructure often,
because it’s so much more exciting to focus on the bold, vibrant actions
taking place on the streets. But strikes across 185 countries took an
immense amount of tech set up, logistics, volunteers, trainings, and tools
– all that takes money and time.

The Global Climate Strikes were only the beginning. Now, we need to be
ready to power the big climate moments of 2020: for this, we need you. Can
you chip in a few euros today to fund the essential training, organizers,
and tech we need to grow even bigger and bolder next year?

[ [link removed] ]Yes, I'll chip in today!

We’ve come so far, we can’t afford to lose momentum now. It’s up to all of
us to harness the global attention we’ve sparked – and make 2020 the year
of climate justice. [ [link removed] ]Chip in and power our movement: only today anything
you give will be doubled, thanks to a contribution by a generous donor!

Onwards, together,

Julia for the entire 350.org team

P.S. Anything you can donate now will help power bigger, bolder actions
than ever before. We have the ambition and vision, now we need the cash to
back it. [ [link removed] ]If you can, please chip in today and make 2020 the year for
radical climate action. Anything you can give today will be doubled: it's
Giving Tuesday, and generous donors in the US have pledged to match each
and every online gift made until midnight today!
