AIPAC Update

Dear A.,

The White House announced that President Biden will travel to Israel and the Middle East next month, in an important affirmation of America’s ironclad commitment to advancing the U.S.-Israel relationship.

The planned itinerary includes a visit to Saudi Arabia, which underscores the administration’s efforts to strengthen and support peace, cooperation, and integration between Israel and our Arab allies.

This trip is a critical opportunity to further unite America and our closest regional allies against the increasingly dangerous Iranian regime.

Several important bipartisan initiatives addressing Iranian aggression are currently advancing on Capitol Hill, and we need your help to encourage Congress to support them:

1. The DEFEND Act seeks to expand cooperation between Israel and its Arab partners in missile defense and counter-drone technology, recognizing the threats posed by Iran and that a coalition of allies with advanced defensive capabilities will strengthen deterrence.

2. The Stop Iranian Drones Act clarifies that U.S. sanctions on Iran apply to Iranian drones, and is a critical effort to protect America, Israel and our other allies in the region from deadly Iranian drone attacks. The legislation passed the House on April 27 and now awaits action in the Senate.

Must-Read Op-Ed

'Anti-AIPAC Hypocrisy Rooted in Ignorance'
"Israel is too important to be a partisan issue.

As young Democrats and Jews of color, we have strong personal views, and while we understand the natural inclination to disengage from an opposing political party with which we vehemently disagree on most issues, we also understand the significance of rising above partisanship for a cause that is personal."
