Election info: Learn more about the Real Estate Transfer Tax

The following referendum question will appear on the General Primary Election ballot:

?Shall the Village of Oswego impose a real estate transfer tax at a rate of $3.00 per $1,000 of value to be paid by the buyer of the real estate transferred, with the revenue of the proposed transfer tax to be used for construction and maintenance of the Village of Oswego water system, including connection to Lake Michigan water, and lessening the increase in future water rates??

Real estate transfer fees from future residents and businesses will help?offset the cost of a new water source and lessen the increase in future water?rates for all.

Early voting?continues through June 23 at Village Hall, 100 Parkers Mill, Oswego.?Village Hall voting hours are?Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.,?Saturday, 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., and closed on Sunday.

The General Primary Election is Tuesday, June 28 and the polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.?Find more election information.


Coffee and Conversation for Seniors

Seniors are invited to join Oswego Village President Troy Parlier on June 25 at 9 a.m. to check out the new dog park and ask questions about what?s happening around town. Coffee and breakfast treats will be served. This free event will take place at at?Oswego?s new Ella Dog Park,?100 Theodore Drive, Oswego.

Open house for Wolfs Crossing/Harvey Road project

There will be an open house at Village Hall on Wednesday, June 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. for the roundabout project planned for Wolfs Crossing at Harvey Road. Residents can stop by to see the plans and engineers will be present to answer questions.?

Gather your family for free outdoor games and movies on the big screen at Venue 1012. The Game Plan will be shown on Thursday, June 23; Spider-Man: No Way Home on Thursday, July 21; and Disney's Luca on Thursday, August 18. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. with family games and drawings for fun prizes. All movies start at 8:45 p.m.?

Oswego?s Chik-fil-A will have a limited menu available for purchase. Outside food and beverages are welcome (except alcohol) at all Movies Under the Stars.

Best of Mo-Town and R&B coming to Venue 1012

Feel like dancing or just hanging out with friends and family outdoors on a summer evening? Head out to Venue 1012 on Thursday, June 30 to see R-Gang and move to the groove with Mo-Town plus Rhythm & Blues. Crawford's Daughter will open the night with tunes from?Fleetwood Mac, Al Green, and Little Big Town. Cold beer from Oswego Brewing Co. and wine from Fox Valley Winery, plus White Claws and soda will be available for purchase. Kick of the Fourth with Air Force's Starlifter and Marina City

Start Independence Day weekend with free music at Venue 1012 on Saturday, July 2. Starlifter-U.S. Air Force Band will perform pop hits and some patriotic favorites. Marina City featuring American Idol contestant Ryan Argast will open the evening with their original tunes and more. Local food trucks and cold beverages will be available for purchase. Then celebrate on Monday, July 4 with fireworks presented by the Village at Prairie Point Park. The sky show will start at approximately 9:30 p.m. There will be limited parking- please share a ride!?
