[link removed] [[link removed]] JOHN,
As I’ve campaigned across Maryland’s 1st Congressional District my focus on commonsense, kitchen-table issues and preservation of democracy has been well-received by Democrats, Independents, and even Republicans fed up with Andy Harris’s failure to deliver for the district and appalled by his January 6th antics.
I’m certain that I can beat him in November. But FIRST, I need to get to November by winning the Democratic primary. Can you chip in right now and ensure I do just that? [[link removed]]
To those many Independents and Republicans who have expressed support for my campaign, I need your vote, not only in November but in the July 19th Primary election. BUT ONLY VOTERS REGISTERED AS DEMOCRATS BY JUNE 28TH CAN VOTE IN THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY .
So if you are an Independent or Republican fed up with Andy Harris and interested in my candidacy, you will need to change your party registration to Democrat for the primary. I can imagine that may be difficult for a committed and lifelong Republican. But if you feel like your Republican principles have been violated by Andy Harris, it’s what you need to do to oust him... you can always flip your registration back to “R” after the primary!
See the information below from the website of the Maryland State Board of Elections to see how to make the switch. And then tell your like-minded friends
Information regarding voting in a Primary Election [[link removed]]
Who can I vote for in a party primary election?
Generally, you must be registered with either the Democratic or Republican Party to vote in the primary election. If there are non-partisan offices that are elected in a primary election (i.e., school board), any voter can vote for these offices. Contact your local board of elections [[link removed]] .
Can I change political parties?
Yes, except after the close of voter registration, until voter registration opens up again after an election.
To change your party affiliation, use Maryland's Online Voter Registration System (OLVR) [[link removed]] or submit a new voter registration application [[link removed]] or a written request to your local board of elections [[link removed]] .

Together, across party lines, we can do this – we can advance the interests of the people of Maryland’s 1st District.
