Plastic waste can be found in almost every corner of the planet. It’s in our oceans, soil, water, food and even our bodies. Humans digest about a credit card-sized amount of plastic each week! That’s why Food & Water Action is working to address plastic waste at its source: fracking and fossil fuel production.

We can put an end to plastic pollution and protect our planet.

John,

Plastic production and its pollution are destroying our planet.

Plastics are fueled by fracking, the extreme method of extracting fossil fuels that is polluting the planet and exacerbating climate change. Fracking provides ethane, the cheap raw material used for plastics production. And more fracking equals more profit in plastics – which equals, you guessed it… more plastics. It’s what we call the fracking-to-plastics pipeline.

More plastic created means more waste polluting our rivers, lakes and oceans. Plastic doesn’t decompose. Instead, it breaks down into microplastic molecules that end up in everything, including the air, soil and water.

The world is awash in toxic plastic pollution. Fight plastic pollution by supporting Food & Water Action’s campaign to ban fracking and fossil fuel infrastructure.

Oil and gas corporations don’t care what destruction they leave behind, as long as they make a profit (while endangering people and communities). But we do! That’s why Food & Water Action is calling for a nationwide ban on fracking and all new oil and gas infrastructure to cut plastic pollution off at the source.

Together, we can end plastic pollution by fighting for the future we all deserve, and protecting the planet from reckless, dangerous drilling. But we can’t do any of this work without you. Join us today with a gift to end the fracking-to-plastic pipeline.
