Delia Ramirez doesn’t just wage uphill battles against establishment
lawmakers -- she wins meaningful change for the people. Delia leads on
issues that are central to the working families she represents, like
lowering prescription drug prices and fighting for a $15 minimum wage.
That's just part of why today the Progressive Change Campaign Committee is
proud to endorse Delia Ramirez for Congress in Illinois' newly-drawn,
heavily Latino, strongly Democratic 3rd Congressional District. This
primary is less than 2 weeks away -- on June 28!
Instead of taking corporate PAC money, Delia has pushed to end the
revolving door between lawmakers and lobbyists -- a top priority of none
other than Elizabeth Warren, who has also endorsed Delia. This is the kind
of transformative leadership we need in Congress.

The daughter of Guatemalan immigrants, Delia Ramirez’s focus on bold,
transformative solutions to homelessness and poverty is inspired by her
own childhood experience.
Her mother worked multiple low-wage jobs to give her children a fighting
chance to escape poverty. Her father worked two jobs and alternated shifts
with her Mom so that they could care for their children. And Delia
witnessed firsthand how important social services are, as she watched
neighbors come to her church for housing assistance, food, and services
for the undocumented.
To protect Illinois renters from eviction and homeowners from foreclosure,
Delia passed the COVID-19 Emergency Housing Act and secured funding for a
tenant and landlord pandemic relief fund. On the day it passed, she wrote
"Today was one of my proudest days getting to serve as a State
Representative...This legislation is a critical first step to averting a
housing crisis."
Polling shows Delia Ramirez is the frontrunner in four-way primary -- but
close behind her is a lobbyist for Big Oil, private prisons, and a giant
utility company that was caught giving out political bribes!
In addition to the PCCC, Delia has been endorsed by Senators Elizabeth
Warren and Bernie Sanders, Representatives Pramila Jayapal and Ayanna
Pressley, the Working Families Party, the Congressional Progressive Caucus
PAC, and many other leading progressives and progressive organizations. If
elected, Delia would be the first Latina in Congress from the Midwest.
