Dataset now available: [ [link removed] ]**Census of State and Federal Adult Correctional Facilities (CCF), 2019 * [ [link removed] ]
The Bureau of Justice Statistics has released the 2019 Census of State and Federal Adult Correctional Facilities dataset through the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data. The census collects facility-level data on the operations of state and federal adult correctional facilities and the conditions of confinement facility-level, including facility function and operator, security level of the facility, special housing, facility capacity and crowding, court orders, safety and security within prisons, the number of security staff, educational and special programming, and work assignments. Additionally, the census collects custody population counts by demographic characteristics, sentence length, and custody security level. The CCF furnishes the sampling frame for the nationwide Survey of Prison Inmates.
