The January 6 hearings have begun. And already, they’re confirming what we know: Democracy is under attack.

These hearings aren’t just about what happened 18 months ago, when Republicans invaded the capital in a last-ditch attempt to overturn the elections and destroy our democracy. They are also about the attacks on our democracy that have continued since January 6 – and the Big Lie that sustains them.

We’re funding voter protection staff in Texas to help voters overcome the Texas voter suppression law, S.B.1. And in May, Texas saw a significant drop in vote-by-mail rejection rates, compared to the March primary election. And it wasn’t an anomaly.

We built a successful voter protection program in Georgia in 2020, and we know first-hand how important this work is to winning close elections. That’s why we’re doing everything we can to build out a massive voter protection program in other key battleground states.
