Dear Friend,
The blanket you see Naryak holding in the photo above is the only reminder she has left of home. When violence erupted near Agok, South Sudan, she found her children, grabbed the first thing she could find, and they ran for safety.
That is when Naryak’s search for safety began. Her husband was killed during the clashes that forced her family from home, so she alone led her children on a harrowing, seven day journey that eventually led them to a displacement camp in Twic County.
More than 33,000 people have settled in displacement camps across Twic County, where many have little access to food, clean water, or adequate shelter. The only source of comfort and warmth for Naryak and her children is the blanket she managed to bring from her home.
MSF is now running multiple mobile clinics across Twic County to help people like Naryak access the essential care they need. Our team has also provided food and clean water in multiple locations, constructed 135 latrines, and distributed relief items like blankets, mosquito nets, jerry cans, and soap to about 10,000 families. The generosity of our donors made that possible.
--- All gifts given, up to $250,000, will be doubled through 11:59 P.M. EST on June 20. Every dollar you give will be matched with $1. Gifts received after the match has been met will not be matched but will be used where needed most.
