Today we?re reporting a total of 799 additional positive COVID-19 cases and 460 additional recoveries for June 11-17. Today?s report includes 779 current cases and 20 older cases newly reported to the health district.
Please note, one case was removed from total positive cases after it was identified as a non-Galveston County case.
To date, 707,404 tests have been administered in Galveston County.

As of June 17, there have been 7,496 breakthrough cases in Galveston County. That?s about 3 percent breakthrough. More than 206,968 Galveston County residents are fully vaccinated.

To date, a total of 20,261 probable cases have been reported for Galveston County. As stated previously, probable cases are reported separate from confirmed cases. A92 probable case means a person tested positive for antigens or antibodies and also met the probable case definition from the Texas Department of State Health Services. Probable cases are not included in the county's confirmed case count because an antibody test and antigen test are not lab confirmed PCR tests.
